The Newton High School baseball team got off to the start it wanted in both games Friday against Derby at Klein-Scott Field, but the Railers were only able to close out the second game for a win.

On Friday afternoon, the Dodge City High School track squad hit the road for a midseason competition in Buhler, as they faced a steady 13-team field filled with top talent. With both sides looking for a breakthrough, both the Red and Lady Demon athletes had high expectations and lofty goals after impressive showings at the Pre-State tournament in Wichita.
